Team news from Luton | Ogbene ruled out of Saturday's clash

Fri 29 March 2024, 14:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Chiedozie Ogbene has been added to Luton's lengthy injury list ahead of our Premier League encounter at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday (3pm UK).

The wide man picked up a hamstring injury playing for the Republic of Ireland against Belgium last week and manager Rob Edwards has suggested he'll be out for 'a few weeks'.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Edwards said: “It’s not good, we’re missing everyone that we had (injured) before and Chieo as well now, Chieo got injured on international duty."

It's another injury blow to The Hatters with Ogbene a key player usually employed on the right of their 3-4-2-1 system. Indeed, where Luton have made the most crosses in the Premier League this term - 660 - Ogbene has hit 77 of them.

Ogbene joins the likes of Sambi Lokonga, Elijah Adebayo, Gabe Osho, Mads Andersen, skipper Tom Lockyer and Amari’i Bell on the injured list. However, better news sees Alfie Doughty and Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu passed fit after departing early from Luton's 1-1 draw against Forest last time out on 16 March.
